Former combatants from all around the world have a lot IN COMMON!!
They are bonded together by traumatic experiences from the horrors of the conflict they endured
and survived. Today it is known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or P.T.S.D.
To your left are links to web sites that also deal in PTSD, if you want to learn more about this
illness, check out these links!
Are you a former combatant that avoids the present and lives
in the past through flashbacks, nightmares and memories that you wish you could forget?
Have you been told that you have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
from your combat experiences?
Do you drink or drug too much? Have a problem relating to other people because
of your past experiences?
Do you, at times, feel like you are the only one that has those urges and
thoughts of the past?
Well, you are not alone my brothers and sisters because we here at I.B.O.W.W.
feel the same way sometimes. As former combatants, we may be able to help! (brothers are supposed to
help one another, right?) Email us and we may have a few answers or two, we want to help you on your
long journey home! Let's begin by saying these simple but sincere words: "Welcome Home Brothers and Sisters".
"THE LONG JOURNEY HOME"
Click here to view some exerpts from the Treatise called: "The Long Journey Home" by Wayne Fowler,
founder of I.B.O.W.W.
While reading this treatise, you might get the feeling that he has been reading your mind,
or spying on you, but in reality he hasn't, he's just "been there and done that"! As the treatise shows, Mr.
Fowler believes that to have true peace and healing you must first go back to the original cause of the conflict
and see the conflict for what it really is before you can even start to resolve the many problems with a solution.
The fact that most combatants suffer from some degree of PTSD shows that to reach a lasting peace, one must first start
to heal from the many wounds that war causes.
"The Long Journey Home" is a MUST READ for veterans with PTSD or their
family. It will help close many of those wounds and also bring to light many of the problems you and your family may
be facing, ultimately helping to bring some peace and healing to all concerned.
The treatise is an excellent choice for Vet Center Team Leaders. It has an
Acknowledgement to the Veterans Affairs in the front and has proven to help the veteran "really come home".
Clicking HERE will take you to information for ordering the treatise, either for
yourself or for a group.
